Sensing
We all experience our communities, towns and cities differently, and when the pandemic took hold of our lives and confined us to our local communities our senses were enhanced and our engagement with the environment around us was heightened.
As a response to this, Zsófia Szonja Illés proposes ‘Sensing the City’ walks which would allow us all to document what we see, smell, hear and feel. This sensory experience of the city can help us understand our communities and local neighbourhood, but also provide us with an appreciation for how those who can’t see or hear the city around them experience the urban fabric around them.
